History

Main Street was founded in 2001 by our current Director who has a dedicated forty year career working in psychiatry and believes in serving clients by meeting them where they are.  Consequently, it is no surprise that Main Street began by offering Mobile Treatment services to clients in their homes across Baltimore County. A service that is still offered today.

Once the office was established in Reisterstown, where it has been since the agency’s inception, it became clear that the community could benefit from the added services that an Outpatient Mental Health Center could offer.  So, in 2004, when the clinic opened its doors to clients, Main Street’s on site services began.  A hallmark of the clinic has been in its identity as a smaller agency which strives to give clients a space which is warm and welcoming and most of all conducive to providing each client with a space in which to successfully accomplish goals and personal growth.

Shortly after the clinic opened, Main Street established its first formal partnership providing services in a Baltimore County School.

Since its inception, Main Street has grown significantly while maintaining its initial commitment to serving its clients’ and community’s needs.
